I'm watching Disney's "The Black Hole"!

I was talking about it with some friends, so I got it from Netflix. I can't remember the last time I watched this, but the second I heard the theme, I flashed back!

Here, enjoy it with me:

I lost my mom three years ago tonight.

I always hesitate telling people how long it's been, because when they don't understand how it feels, they think you're over it.

But I miss her and it hurts. It brings a lot of other things back.

Luckily, my aunt had invited me over for lunch and a friend had me over tonight. It kept me occupied.

Love you, Mom. A bushel and a peck.

Michener Family picnic today

My mom's family descended from the Micheners.  The only way you may have heard the name before is James Michener, the novelist. The family came to America centuries ago, back when it was just colonies.  At some point, someone decided to keep track of descendents which carries on to today. My grandmother was the last of our family to have the name Michener.

For 106 years, the family reunites for a picnic - or at least whoever wants to come reunites.  We haven't gone in a long time, even though my mom talked about it.  Now, when we're missing her and the anniversary of losing her is days away, we're going today.

It is amazing to look around at hundreds of people and know that at the core, you're all related.  You're family. We've even had times when we run into someone who looks amazingly like us.  Some genetic code that crosses the distance and brings you closer together.

And it'll be fun!

Software privacy!

I am livid!

I bought a copy of Photoshop since I was going to upgrade to Win 7 and would wipe the drive.  I have a very old version of Photoshop, so I wanted to get something new.  Better for the resume and better features.

I checked it out before I bought it: Adobe box, full licensing, shrink wrapped.... everything showing it's legitimate.  But when I entered my serial code, I had to call customer service who told me I was ripped off.  That's how good pirates are: reusing real packaging etc. and shrink wrapping.

I just reported it to get my money back, but I don't know if they'll do it.

All Ears New York Weekend!

I am new york for the special AllEars weekend, part of the 15th Anniversary celebration!

We will see Mary Poppins on Broadway, special seats in the Orchestra section.  Then special "magic" after that which they are keeping as a surprise.

Tomorrow morning is a special event at the new Disney Store in Times Square; it is a private tour and the store is even closed so we have private shopping time.  And Deb has more surprises in mind.

Plus, I will see friends I haven't seen in years!  And I am traveling with my friend Carol J.

It is going to be such a great time!

My Inner Child is now mobile friendly!

I just created a simple mobile template so you can check out my blog on your smartphone.  Because you know when you're at work or at vacation, you want to know what my Inner Child has to say.  It might be something really important.  For instance: HOW I'VE ONLY LOST 3 POUNDS IN ONE MONTH!!!!

Now see, you can read that on your smartphone! You couldn't do it easily before!

I'm soooo new millenium. ;)

All Ears Where in the World contest:

AllEars.Net has a weekly contest called "Where in the World Photo Fun".  It's a game where we post a thumbnail of something in Walt Disney World; you guess what it is and we post the answer, with the winners, the following Sunday morning.  Each month, we randomly select someone from that month's winners, and Deb Wills sends them AllEars goodies and a Disney book!

Barrie Brewer created the game almost 3 years ago and recently handed it to me, so she could get to play.  Not to mention, handle her expanding duties such as her great job of creating our trading cards.

So please join us each week!  Some of them are hard, others easy, and it's always fun!
